About Us
Tammey and Erin Gatchell
Hi, I'm Tammey! I will be the one updating this site as well as running Mom & Pop's! Erin will continue to operate our current business, Gatchell Imaging Products, Inc. He'll help out when he can but promises to be my best customer! Erin and I are from Mankato, have been married for eighteen years, and we have three children (see below). I help Erin here and there with Gatchell Imaging Products, but for the most part, I've been a stay-at-home mom for the past sixteen years. We're usually busy with family, but we enjoy close friends and going to dinner and a movie. In the winter, Erin loves to downhill ski! Our family has two cats, sisters Sam and Lily, that live at Erin's office.
A Special Thank You to Erin . . .
Erin made this whole project possible with his blood, sweat and tears . . . literally . . . he got seven stitches and has a scar to prove it! For those of you who know Erin, it will come as no surprise that he rolled up his sleeves and got things done. Erin is the type of man who figures out how to do something if he doesn't already know, and he makes sure "it's right on the money"! Erin goes above and beyond quality. Even though Erin works seven days a week with Gatchell Imaging Products, he made time to work on our Mom & Pop's project -- gutting the place inside and out (finding hidden artifacts), working as the general contractor for much of the project, hand mixing many bags of concrete, constructing the entire floor structure, welding the fence and creating the outside seating area, remortaring and rebuilding areas of the foundation, some framing, as well as daringly working two stories up! We appreciate all your hard work Erin, you deserve to be our best customer! Thank YOU!

Why the name Mom & Pop's?
While driving one day, Erin and I were discussing what we could put in the 629 North Riverfront Drive building!? Gatchell Imaging Products was moving to an office in upper North Mankato . . . What did Mankato need? After some thought, I said, "I've got it! An ice cream shop!" Erin asked me what we'd name it. Moments later, "Mom & Pop's" came from my mouth. From that drive, the decision was made . . . it's been a long process, but we never looked back! The term "mom and pop shop" is common to most. To me, it reflects the feeling of old time (our building is from the 1850's) yet means family oriented, which our place will be! All five of us will be actively involved with Mom & Pop's. Even though our shop will be a blend of old meets contemporary, it'll have the feel of a warm, friendly place where you're valued and welcome! We feel Mom & Pop's will be a fun place for ALL ages!
